Nvidia Secures Major AI Chip Deal in South Korea Amid Global Expansion
Nvidia has landed a landmark agreement to supply over 260,000 Blackwell AI chips to South Korea's government and corporate giants, including Samsung, SK Group, Hyundai, and Naver. The deal underscores Nvidia's pivot to new markets as U.S.-China trade restrictions reshape semiconductor supply chains.
The Korean government will deploy 50,000 chips for a National AI Computing Center, while private sector recipients plan industrial automation upgrades. CEO Jensen Huang framed the partnership as Korea's next export frontier: "The country can now produce intelligence as its next great export."
This transaction follows Nvidia's recent ascent to a $5 trillion valuation, fueled by successive global AI infrastructure deals. The announcement coincided with Huang's meetings with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung during the APEC summit in Gyeongju.
